VooMote now supports Plex media Center!

Monday, February 1st, 2010

We are very proud that VooMote now also supports one of the greatest Media Center software available for the Mac: Plex.

We really love the design and functionality of Plex and are very excited about their AppStore approach, which continuously increases the functionality and content you can watch with Plex. And now with VooMote it is even more fun to use Plex. If you are not a Plex user, give it a try: http://www.plexapp.com/

To update VooMote to support Plex, just download our latest VooMote Receiver V1.2 from our download section: http://voomote.tv/download.php

We got a lot of requests from our community, if we can include Plex and we would like to thank you for that input. Please also let us know in the future, which application you would like to be supported by VooMote.

With the latest version of VooMote Receiver, we also fixed a connectivity problem we had with some PowerPC-based Macs and some intel-based Macs running MacOSX 10.5.8. If you had problems running VooMote on your Mac, please try again after installing VooMote Receiver 1.2. User who already have an installed of VooMote Receiver are automatically notified about the update.

Enjoy VooMote now even more with Plex support. Please let us know how you like it, and if you like it, let others know as well by writing a review for Voomote in the Apple AppStore.

VooMote about to launch iPhone application

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

The VooMote team is hitting crunch time. We are currently preparing the launch of our first product and the relaunch of our website. So you can imagine we are really under fire and very excited.

It is a really fascinating thing to create a product simply out of an idea. I am lucky that this time, I may be part of this. The idea gets developed into a concept, the concept into a specification and then finally after a lot of hard work into a product.

So, our idea is, to reinvent the remote control. Well, reinventing is quite a big word, you might think. How are we going to do that?

In simple words: we replace buttons with gestures. Remote Controls always have been about buttons. Arrow buttons, number buttons, playback control buttons, OK buttons, special buttons. Every functionality has a button, and more functionalities need more buttons. So remote controls became pretty big and unusable.

Our idea is to use touch-gestures to control your media. You can browse every menu by using swipe gestures. Swipe left, swipe right, up and down. It couldn’t be simpler. Our easy-to-learn Smart-Gestures give you direct access to all the functionalities you need.

We are very excited about that and we are sure you will be, too. Check out this website to keep up to date about the launch date for our “VooMote for iPhone” Application. You can also follow us on twitter or register for our forum. Get in touch with us and share your comments!
